Do's and Don'ts of Installation: expansion control joints
Dos and Don'ts of Installation:
What needs to be done to do a successful job.
Although stamped concrete is faster and more convenient to install than brick or paver, it is still a complicated process that requires the right tools, materials, experience, and site conditions. installation to ensure a successful result.
Here's an important tip to discuss with your contractor about dos and don'ts before the project begins:
Make sure stamped concrete has its expansion control joints to avoid cracks. To be effective, expansion control joints or lines must be at least one-quarter deep of the total thickness of the slab.
If you are concerned that expansion joints or lines will cause a problem in the appearance of the stamped surface, ask your contractor to hide your expansion control joints or lines by integrating them into the line pattern when possible.
